C2E EcoPark System

The Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System is a collaboration among nine government and not-for-profit agencies that collectively protect nearly 2,200 ha of open space and nature sanctuary between Cootes Paradise and the Niagara Escarpment at the western end of Lake Ontario. Civicplan and BMcH were retained by the Ecopark system management team to assist with planning and strategy. This included research and stakeholder engagement to assess differing financial, governance and management models as well as spatial analysis to consider different methods of delineating and expanding boundaries of the EcoPark system in order to achieve long term sustainability and success.
