Rethinking Chedoke Creek
The Bay Area Restoration Council (BARC) has teamed up with Civicplan to launch Let’s Talk Water – an engagement process that captured residents thoughts on their shared watershed through a participatory process that included experience mapping. The goal is to engage a broad cross section of residents from two regions in a conversation about their relationship to a shared waterfront. How do they use the waterfront, what do they do, what perceptions do they have about change over time, and where are their favourite places?
The first phase of the project was launched with the goal of engaging about their relationship to the harbour. Phase two looks to expand the conversation beyond the bay to other parts of the city, including an interactive tour of Chedoke Creek.
Phase three will take things further through a rethinking of Chedoke Creek in a number of different urban environments. This project is ongoing.
