To the Little Things
A snowman is just a snowman. Or is it?
We passed this snowman over the weekend, happily standing on the median of a busy intersection. We don’t know who built it, but we do know it made us smile.
Winter is a good time to stop and appreciate the little things that build a community. The local ice rink maintained by neighbours. The communal snow fort built into the mounded snow in a church parking lot. The neighbour who goes all out on their Christmas decorations.
It’s these little things that turn a collection of homes and streets into a neighbourhood – into a community.
As we all rush about getting ready for the holidays, we thought we’d take a moment to stop and appreciate the small stuff, the little things that give a community its character and make a neighbourhood a home.
So, here’s to the little things.
Happy holidays from your friends at Civicplan.
